Follow the Leader

The Get HandsOn Campaign (GHO) aims to inspire, equip and connect people to make positive change in their communities. Through the GHO online community volunteers will be able to access tools, resources and training to participate in activities that improve their schools, protect their environment, ensure the economic well-being of their friends and neighbors, and assist with emergency/disaster relief efforts.

Volunteers have been invited to visit the Follow the Leader website to download a variety of Project Playbooks, complete a volunteer project and report on the outcome. By doing this volunteers have a shot at winning a variety of prizes. The Grand Prize is an all expense paid trip for two to the Philippines for a one week "Volunteer Vacation" coordinated by HandsOn Manila. This includes airfare, fees and six night's lodging. There are other monthly prizes that include all expense paid trips and Apple iPads.

As an organization you can join in by checking out the available Playbooks and seeing if any would work with your organizations mission and goals. If so encourage your existing volunteers to sign up and lead a project. They could end up winning one of the great monthly prizes or the grand prize! They could even blog about their adventures on our blog and share their experiences with other volunteers. If your organization would like to engage a volunteer in one of the Playbooks please email Heather with the name of the playbook and how your organization could utilize a volunteer to lead that specific project. We will refer any volunteers interested in participating to active Partner Organizations.
