Going Green

Spring time is the perfect time to for volunteers to go green.  Does your organization have opportunities that have an environmental impact?  If so, be sure to download the Volunteer Opportunities Form and submit your green opportunities for volunteers to find.

If you are looking for simple ways you can go green, check out these simple 50 Ways to Help the Planet.  Many of the ideas can be implemented at home and in the workplace potentially saving money and resources.  Remember, don't just wear green for St. Patrick's Day, go GREEN all year long!

Throughout the month of March, the Volunteer Center will be posting tips for going green through our Facebook page. Additionally, we will have opportunities for volunteers to get engaged through two different methods. The first option, there will be an album demonstrating our different go green tips. Comment or tag yourself on the picture(s) for which you have participated. All participants will be entered in a drawing to win a go green goody bag. Then, there will be a weekly contest for new and innovative ideas for going green. Post a comment of one of your ideas, and each week a winner will be selected to win a prize!
