If your organization has clients or employees that made less than $49,000 in 2010 you'll want to pass on the information below.  Free tax preparation is available to individuals and households who qualify at 30 different locations throughout southern Nevada.  Those who made more than $49,000 still qualify to use the BeeHive system to file your taxes for free.  Please share this information with your clients, employees, friends and family so everyone can take advantage of free tax preparation.  

Earn It Keep It Save It

United Way of Southern Nevada's "Earn It Keep It Save It" collaborative is offering free tax preparation to those who earned less than $49,000 in 2010. From now until April 15, IRS-certified volunteers who are trained to identify federal tax credit eligibility for lower-income individuals (such as the Earned Income Tax Credit), will assist local families and individuals to receive the most from their 2010 tax returns.

Services are available at 30 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites throughout the Valley as a result of the collaborative effort across southern Nevada. To get a full listing of the VITA sites and a listing of what you will need to bring, click HERE.

Are you computer savvy?  Did you under $58,000 in 2010?  Do you want a chance to prepare your own taxes for free?   This year we are working with the BeeHive tax program and their program is designed for people who make under $58,000, have a valid email address, and a social security number (or ITIN) to complete their taxes for free online.

Perhaps you know someone who doesn't qualify for EIKISI or perhaps they are great with computers and want a chance at preparing their own return.   All they need to do is go to http://www.MyFreeTaxes.com/UWSN  and click "file your taxes FREE online Now" to begin.  The website walks you through the steps and completes your return.  The hardest part is probably creating a username with an appropriate password (it has to have numbers, letters, caps, and a symbol).
