Get Connected

To best Get Connected we have found it helpful to have a variety of resources to work with. In the April Newsletter we shared the opportunity to become a member of DOVIA (Directors of Volunteers In Agencies) in order to get connected with others in the community who work with volunteers. If you're not able to join DOVIA you can still get connected through the DOVIA Facebook page. It's a free resource for volunteer leaders to share tips, ask questions and be inspired by what else is going on in the community. This month we'd like to share some great resources that contain information about volunteer management. Many have their own newsletters you can subscribe to or article databases that have relevant information in an assortment of volunteer management topics.

Energ!ze Inc: Energize, Inc. is an international training, consulting and publishing firm specializing in volunteerism. Founded in 1977, Energize has assisted organizations of all types with their volunteer efforts--whether they are health and human service organizations, cultural arts groups, professional associations, or schools.

Idealist: Volunteer management professionals do challenging and rewarding work and we here at Idealist are committed to supporting you with resources, tools, and networking opportunities.

Resource Center: The Resource Center, administered by ETR Associates, is the knowledge management training and technical assistance provider to the Corporation for National and Community Service. It connects service programs with targeted training and information.

HandsOn Network: HandsOn Network partners with nonprofit and government agencies to provide compelling volunteer opportunities and to effectively utilize the talents of people who serve. As the country's leading volunteer organization, HandsOn offers training, resources, and networking opportunities that equip agencies to engage volunteers in meaningful service.

Be sure to check out next months newsletter for more ways to Get Connected to people, organizations, resources and more.
