Your Comments Have Been Heard!

Thank you to the organizations who took the time to respond to our survey. We hope you will continue to take advantage of the opportunity to share your opinions and feedback with us so we can continue to improve our services and be better poised to meet the needs of organizations that utilize volunteers within southern Nevada. We'd like to address the feedback we received through this survey.


It was unanimous that you enjoy a monthly newsletter format. We will continue to offer our newsletters on a monthly basis in order to provide timely information on a routine basis. For up to date information and opportunities for collaboration be sure to visit the DOVIA Facebook page where you can communicate with other volunteer managers, join in a discussion and share your thoughts and concerns about volunteer management.

Your feedback indicated that the types of articles that most interest you are regarding volunteer recognition, volunteer recruitment and retention and current or upcoming partnership opportunities. This month you can find an article about Recognizing Volunteers with the opportunity to join a discussion online to share best practices, ideas and more. We've even included a survey about volunteer recognition in our volunteer newsletter in order to get feedback from our volunteers. You won't want to miss our June newsletter when we share the results of the volunteer recognition survey.

We will also continue to provide articles on increasing your volunteer opportunities visibility and utilizing the Volunteer Center technology so that new partner organizations can learn about these topics. We welcome guest contributions so if your organization is an expert in a topic of interest to other organizations we welcome you to share your experiences. Suggestions for topics for future newsletters or requests for details on how to be a guest contributer can be forwarded to HeatherM@uwsn.org.

In order to better collaborate with our partner organizations we appreciate the feedback that was provided regarding what would better help your organzation take full advantage of the Volunteer Center's partnership opportunities. Future newsletters will address topics like what partnership opportunities are available, training opportunities for volunteer managers and additional recognition opportunities. The Volunteer Center is currently working on a possible recognition event later in the year. If your organization would be interested in partnering to provide a recognition event for southern Nevada volunteers email RobinK@uwsn.org. Please note in your email what you would be able to provide to support the event.

We have noted that some organizations may be interested in more face to face contact. The Volunteer Center team is always open to face to face meetings in our office or yours. We welcome opportunities to learn more about your organization and the ways your organization utilizes volunteers. This helps our team to be able to better serve volunteers by refering them to organzations that fit their interests.
